Profile
  • Professor Lloyd is a Wellcome Senior Fellow in Basic Biomedical Sciences (1999- ) and Professor of Respiratory Immunology within the NHLI at Imperial College. Currently, she sits on the Royal Society’s International grants panel, the European Research Council panel of referees and is a member of the Wellcome Trust Immunology and Infectious Disease Funding Committee. Professor Lloyd’s is interested in the cells and molecules which contribute to the development and resolution of allergen induced airway inflammation and remodelling. Her group has developed in vivo models to study the relationship between airway inflammation, changes in lung physiology and the interaction with resident lung cells. Current projects are focussed on the regulatory pathways that operate in the lung and how they are changed upon exposure to inhaled allergen, development of allergic inflammation and remodelling in neonates; effects of infection on development of airway inflammation and remodelling. Key collaborations within the Centre include Professor Kasia Hawrylowicz (regulation within the lung); Professor Tracy Hussell (infections and allergy); Professor Andy Bush (influence of early life events); Dr Alistair Noble (IL-17 and remodelling);
