Profile

Chris Griffiths is Professor of Primary Care at Barts and the London School of Medicine. He leads the Translational Research Unit for the Centre, located in Whitechapel. Current research programmes and collaborations include immunomodulatory effects of vitamin D on respiratory health (NIHR Programme Grant; BLF and Asthma UK funded trials), early life origins of asthma, the impact of air pollution on health (BRC Programme Grant), screening for infectious disease (HIV [DH funded randomised trial] and lung cancer (CRUK funded trial), and TB [HTA funded cohort]), self management interventions for chronic disease (Asthma UK and RfPB funded studies), and the organisation and delivery of healthcare. He chairs the organisation of care group for the British Asthma Guidelines and is an editorial board member of Thorax and the Primary Care Respiratory Journal.
