Profile
Professor Bill Cookson is Professor of Respiratory Genetics at Imperial College London, Associate Head of NHLI and Campus Dean, Royal Brompton Campus. Bill was previously Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Oxford until 2004. He initially trained as a respiratory physician, and for the past twenty years has developed a research group devoted to understanding the genetic causes of asthma and eczema. He is currently co-ordinator of the GABRIEL Project, a Europe-wide investigation into genetic and environmental causes of asthma.
