Profile
Stephen Till has held a Clinician Scientist Fellowship from The Health Foundation and Academy of Medical Sciences since 2006. The purpose of this award has been to fund research alongside specialist clinical training at Imperial College London and the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. In 2009 he received the biennial World Allergy Organisation Henning Lowenstein Award for excellence shown in allergy research. In 2011 he will move within the Centre to the KCL site as the holder of a HEFCE Clinical Senior Lecturer Award. The objective of these prestigious awards is to build a new cadre of senior clinical academics able to secure long-term sustainability and enhanced outcomes in research and teaching. His past research has involved investigation of T cell responses to grass pollen allergens and the effects of immunotherapy. In collaboration with Dr Rosemary Boyton and Professor Stephen Durham he is currently investigating mechanisms of grass pollen tolerance induction using novel murine transgenic and human in vivo models. He has additional research interests and collaborations relating to food allergy in adults and the effects of parasites on the allergic response.
